Before, when you needed to transfer your laptop's display to a TV or monitor, you'd need a HDMI or DVI cable. Nowadays though, not all televisions support those cables and even if one does, it may not support the best connection (HDMI can be the only option). More often than not then, LCD and LED displays have VGA ports that can be used instead. The VGA port is usually found on laptops with big screens but don't fret as Windows 10 update 1 enables them automatically on any screen size now! Just plug in that VGA cable and boot up your computer while connected to HDTV. You can also use this solution for other ports like DVI and DisplayPort. When you're plugged in, Windows 10 will ask you to format your drive. Keep in mind though, that it's only formatting the drive so that Windows can boot from it, not actually moving things to it.
